Fire Chief – $70-80,000 DOQ, salaried, exempt. The Charlotte Fire Department is staffed by a Fire Chief, six full time firefighters (Captains – 3 and Lieutenants – 3), approximately 30 volunteer firefighters, and several part-time employees who provide fire protection, prevention, emergency medical, and related emergency services to over 20,000 residents encompassing a 150 sq mi geographic area including the city and downtown area and the contracted service to five neighboring rural townships. In addition to fire fighting and emergency medical service training and experience, the successful candidate should have experience in personnel supervision and management of both full-time paid and volunteer staff. Experience in a union environment is preferred.

Seasonal Park Ranger – $9.65 per hour (40 hours per week, May through August). Position is for summer maintenance in the Public Works Department. Duties will include park maintenance, landscaping, and manual labor. Weekend hours are required. Application can be found here or may be picked up by appointment at Charlotte City Hall.
