Deputy Treasurer

We are seeking an enthusiastic accounting professional to join our team as the Deputy Treasurer for the City of Charlotte. This person will serve in a key role in the Finance/Treasury department. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years municipal experience with fund accounting and an associates degree; bachelor degree preferred. You will be responsible for a variety of complex and responsible tasks associated with the collection of fees and taxes; biweekly payroll processing and required reporting; accounts receivable/invoicing; and accounts payable. As part of the team of front-line customer service for the City you will answer inquiries by phone and email, and provide in-person services. This role assists the Finance Director/Treasurer, and may be required to act in his/her absence. Employee in this role is a member of the SEIU union. The starting salary range for this position is $20.52-24.65 per hour, DOQ/E. Excellent benefits including health, vision, and dental; MERS hybrid retirement plan; and paid holidays and leave time. Police Officer

The City of Charlotte, Michigan is seeking well-qualified candidates for the position of Police Officer to work for the best small department in the State of Michigan. The Charlotte Police Department is a 16-person progressive department that seeks professional candidates with potential for growth and focus on a long-term career with our agency. CPD is a full-service department and duties include patrolling city streets, parks, commercial and residential areas to preserve the peace and enforce the laws and city ordinances.  Hours include working 12-hour shifts, weekends, holidays, dayshift, nightshift and on an overtime basis. Candidates must possess an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Public Administration or related field, with a Bachelors Degree preferred. Candidates must be certified, certifiable as a Police Officer by MCOLES, or currently attending an MCOLES certified training academy. To be eligible, candidates must have a valid State of Michigan driver license, ability to pass thorough background check including driving record, and be 21 years of age.

This is a full-time position with hourly rates from $ 20.31 to $26.43, plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental and optical. Starting wage negotiable for candidates with prior policing experience.

Park Ranger (Seasonal)

$11.00 per hour (40 hours per week). Season runs from June 1st through September 1st, 2022. Position is for summer maintenance in the Public Works Department.
