COVID-19 Parks and Playgrounds Advisory

While many park and recreation agencies have closed parks, playgrounds and trails due to COVID-19, the City of Charlotte has not done so yet. There is no present guidance from the Centers for Disease Control or health agencies on how best to manage these spaces. The City lacks the resources to clean and disinfect outdoor equipment to prevent transmission of the coronavirus.  We recommend you take prudent steps to protect yourself, your family and others from the virus including practicing social distancing, washing hands often, avoiding touching your face and staying away from groups of 10 or more people.  Most importantly, if you or a family member is sick, please refrain from using the parks.
