Are you struggling with housing, utility bills, or paying for food?  Do you need assistance with a family emergency? There is help available.

Michigan 2-1-1 can be reached anytime by phone at 2-1-1, or text your zip code to 898211, or online at https://www.mi211.org/. They can help direct you to the assistance programs available for your circumstances.

MSHDA (state housing authority) has rental and utility assistance programs available. Find out more on their website by clicking here.

Michigan Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF). The Homeowner Assistance Fund was established under section 3206 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (the ARP) to mitigate hardships associated with the coronavirus pandemic by providing funds to prevent homeowner mortgage delinquencies, defaults, foreclosure, loss of utilities or home energy services and displacements of homeowners experiencing financial hardship on or after January 21, 2020 or for those homeowners who experience a coronavirus pandemic financial hardship that began before January 21, 2020 but continued after that date. LIHWAP, a federally funded, State of Michigan facilitated, COVID-19 relief related assistance program that has been awarded to Capital Area Community Services, Inc. (CACS) for assistance with payment of water and sewer payments. This program is only available in the four-county area. More information can be found by clicking here.
