From its inception, Vision 2025 has been designed to solicit input from as wide a range of perspectives from the greater Charlotte area as possible. Considerable thought was given to the membership of the steering committee to insure that it represented a wide cross-section of community groups. The Seven Elements of Healthy Communities was adopted as the framework and organizing principle for the conversations that would occur about various aspects of the community.
The key feature of the process, however, has always been the voices of individual residents from Charlotte and the surrounding area. The effort to hear those voices began with a chalkboard set up during the recent Charlotte Celebrates festival to gather impressions from attendees. Building upon that initial input will be a series of seven focus groups to be conducted between July 8 and July 11.

Focus groups will be facilitated by up to three members of the Vision 2025 steering committee. Each will have a similar format that encourages small group discussions to generate ideas followed by large group exercises to identify the most important issues and opportunities to be pursued.
Light refreshments will be provided at each meeting. Each participant will receive a small gift in appreciation for their attendance and an opportunity to win a door prize.
