Summer Concerts welcomes back ‘Life Support’

Aug 16, 2017

CHARLOTTE – Summer Concerts on the Square is delighted to have one of our most popular acts, Life Support, back for the third summer in a row. This high-energy variety band has wowed the summer concert audiences with their upbeat music, and seeming ability to play every audience request.

“Life Support has been a hit with our crowd since their first appearance,” concert organizer Bryan Myrkle said. “In my mind, the most important thing is, ‘Are they entertaining?’ and, Life Support can really put on a show.”

The free concert will take place on Thursday, August 17, at 6:30 p.m. on the lawn of the historic 1885 Eaton County Courthouse Square. Life Support has been a performing unit for 15 years, with more than 140 years of combined experience. The key members of the band are Nikki Fowler on lead vocals, Ricky Nalett on keyboards and vocals, Bob Giunta on guitar and vocals, and Donny Brown on drums and vocals. Life Support was one of the premier bands at The Beer Barrel in Put-In-Bay for several years, and is one of the most requested bands for special events on Mackinac Island. Life support performs everything from jazz standards to classic rock and modern artists.

There will be several special events going on that night at the Square, including a classic car and motorcycle show sponsored by Pray Funeral Home, and Charlotte’s First Lutheran Church will be celebrating 500 years of Lutheran Faith with free hotdogs and other refreshments. Be sure to check out the Charlotte Artisan and Farmer’s Market, too.

The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and will run approximately two hours. In case of rainy weather, the concert will be moved to the First Congregational Church, right across the street. The Summer Concerts on the Square free music series will continue every Thursday evening through the end of August.
