Summer Concerts season concludes with “The Chain,” along with the PNC Mobile Learning Adventure and Charlotte First Congregational Church Ice Cream Social

Aug 23, 2016

The 2016 season of Charlotte’s Summer Concerts on the Square free music series will conclude this week Thursday, August 25, with a performance by The Chain, a popular Lansing-based band in the style of Fleetwood Mac. Also featured on the Square that day from 3 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. will be the PNC Bank Mobile Learning Adventure for kids. Also available that night will be the Charlotte First Congregational Church’s popular homemade Ice Cream Sandwiches – always a crowd favorite.

The Chain

Members of The Chain

Band members include Dan O’Malley, Sandy Stenske, Tom Franklin and Tony Cushman, who often perform together under the name Episode. They are four experienced musicians pooling their talents to bring you rock from the 1960’s to the present day. As The Chain, they feature a tribute to the music of Fleetwood Mac with special guest vocalist and keyboardist Barbara Bean. They promise an evening of music you won’t soon forget.

The PNC Mobile Learning Adventure is a traveling exhibit that provides an opportunity for parents and families to learn about the importance of early childhood education while they engage in fun activities with their children. The MLA includes a ‘When I Grow Up’ station where kids can dress up as professionals they hope to someday be, and have their picture taken with an appropriate background. In addition, parents can take home activity books and learning kits that demonstrate how to take everyday moments and turn them into learning opportunites. There will also be interactive touch screen kiosks with fun, interactive and educational activities, a craft area and a giveaway table. The MLA is targeted at kids ages 2 to 5.
