Small Business Relief Grants Available

Mar 27, 2020

These are challenging and unpredictable times. Today the City of Charlotte, CharlotteRising, and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce heard from the Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and received information on the Small Business Relief Grants program.

Sixty (60) $10,000 grants will be awarded throughout the Lansing region. Businesses in Charlotte have as good a chance as any to be awarded one of these grants. They are intended to help businesses who are being hurt by COVID-19 and related Executive Orders. The money is to help with payroll expenses, rent, mortgage payments, utilities and and similar expenses that occur in the ordinary course of business. We are hoping to support the submission of about 10-12 grants.

These grants are for Michigan businesses with fewer than 50 employees, full and part time (including the business owners).

For full eligibility requirements and the application, look to the Lansing Economic Area Partnership.

The grant application has a very quick turnaround time to get money out to businesses as quickly as possible. Applications will be available on Friday March 27th and the grant application timeline ends on Tuesday March 31st at 11:59pm.

If you need help and support to complete this grant in this short period, please reach out to Bryan Myrkle at the City of Charlotte, Courtney Anderson at the Chamber, or Lisa Barna at CharlotteRising. All three of us will be available all weekend to provide assistance to businesses interested in applying.
