The Charlotte Area Recycling Authority (CARA) is ran by the City of Charlotte.  The Recycling Center, located at 201 Hall Street , was first opened in 1995 for the purpose of providing a drop-off recycling center for the collection, processing, marketing and removal of recyclable items.  The Center is funded through donations, sale of recyclable materials and grants from Eaton County Resource Recovery.

The Recycling Center is always looking for individual and groups of volunteers.  Speakers for educational talks in schools are also available.  If you are interested in volunteering or scheduling a program, please contact the CARA Director at 517-213-1266.
