Credit/Debit Card and Electronic Check Fees

The City of Charlotte makes payment via credit and debit card and electronic check available as a convenience to customers who wish to use these methods of payment. Credit/debit card and electronic check processing is a service provided by G2G Cloud Services, a division of Oakland County, Michigan government.

G2G Cloud Services assesses a fee for each payment transaction processed using a credit or debit card. The fee, listed in the table below includes includes a merchant fee and an enhanced access fee. This fee, paid by the card holder, covers the cost of providing this service. This insures that these costs are not passed on to other taxpayers or customers.

G2G Cloud Services assesses a flat $2.50 fee per transaction when paying via electronic check.

Through April 30, 2020, the City of Charlotte will be covering the cost of the enhanced access fee included in the charges listed in the table below. This will reduce the cost of credit and debit card payments by approximately 38%. The electronic check payment fee will remain $2.50 per transaction.
