The City Council passed an ordinance to enact a rental registration program in 2021. Residential properties that are not owner-occupied will need to register with the city and pass a safety inspection to ensure compliance with standards found in the International Property Maintenance Code. The city will be phasing in the registration and inspection requirements for existing rental property owners, beginning in November 2021.
This is part of a larger effort to ensure city-wide compliance with property maintenance standards for all residential and commercial properties in the city.
