Christine Mossner comes to Charlotte from the City of Palatine,
Illinois, where she was the Director of Utility Billing. Mossner is
responsible for handling the finances of the city. The largest
portions of this responsibility are preparing and overseeing the
city's annual operating budget, as well as the annual audit. Mossner,
is also responsible for other monetary functions in the city,
including the handling of claims, accounts and payroll. Mossner
holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting, and is a licensed attorney,
receiving her juris doctor from the Michigan State University
College of Law.

CITY CHARTER- SECTION 6.7. CITY
TREASURER
(A) The Treasurer shall have the custody of all moneys of the city,
the Clerk's bond if there be one, and all evidences of value
belonging to or held in trust by the city.
(B) He shall keep and deposit all moneys or funds in such manner and
only in such places as the Council may determine or as may be
required by law or ordinance of the city.
(C) He shall have such power, duties, and prerogatives in regard to
the collection and custody of state, county, school district, and
city taxes and moneys as are conferred by law.
(D) He shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by law
or by the City Manager with the approval of the Council. |
