The City of Charlotte maintains a department of
community development to assist you with matters related to
development within the city. Acting as a clearinghouse of community
information and opportunity, the Community Development Department
can provide you with the necessary facts, figures and information
you need to make an informed decision about locating a business in
Charlotte.
The City of Charlotte, along with neighboring Carmel and Eaton
Townships have entered into a progressive 50-year development
agreement that provides
for city annexations and city services for defined areas, through
this development friendly tool, the agreement specifically
identifies more than 1,100 acres with potential for development. The
City of Charlotte also developed a new Master Plan in 2000, which
identifies where potential development opportunities exist, and also
coordinates growth in appropriate areas throughout the city.
