ABSENTEE BALLOTS

City of Charlotte Voters

Absentee Ballots for the City of Charlotte were mailed out on Thursday, September 29, 2016.  If you do not receive your ballot in the next week or so be sure to contact the Clerk’s office so that we can ensure that we have your application.

If you would like to vote absentee there is still plenty of time to contact our office to receive an absentee application.  517-543-8841  If you meet the criteria to vote absentee please contact our office to receive an absentee ballot.  The lines are expected to be long on election day.  This will save you time on election day!

Reasons to vote absentee include:

  • You are 60 years of age or older.
  • You expect to be absent from the community in which you are registered for the entire time the polls are open on election day.
  • You are physically unable to attend the polls without the assistance of another.
  • You cannot attend the polls because of the tenets of your religion.
  • You have been appointed an election precinct inspector in a precinct other than the precinct in which you reside.
  • You cannot attend the polls because you are confined to jail awaiting arraignment or trial.
