Charlotte is conveniently located with easy accessibility to Lansing, Battle Creek, and Jackson, within close proximity to I-69, I-96 and I-94. We are a community that values its history, but is always looking to the future. Our historic homes and buildings will remind you of another era, while our state-of-the-art middle school, performing arts center, athletic facilities and aquatic center meet the needs of a technologically advancing world.

Hayes Green Beach Hospital continues to be a source of pride as evidenced by the community’s support of several expansions to provide area residents the best medical care available. Charlotte’s economic base is stable, with a variety of important businesses like community anchor Spartan Motors. As the proud seat of Eaton County, Charlotte is also home to the Eaton County governmental complex. Our fire department and its core of volunteers is one of the best in the state and our police department continues to serve and protect with continuous training and community policing efforts.

The greatest asset of any community is the people who reside there and Charlotte is no exception. From our youth to our senior citizens, we care deeply about the city’s success and much has been accomplished through a variety of collaborative efforts. Working together, the people of Charlotte now have the Eaton Area Senior Center , which serves as a hub of senior activity in our community. We also have a beautiful skate park within Lincoln Park and a sledding hill and ice skating rink near by. The Battle Creek winds its way through more than a hundred acres of woods at Bennett Park while next door a semi-professional football team competes on the gridiron. You won’t want to miss our annual Frontier Days celebration, which is always held the weekend after Labor Day and takes us all back in time to the days of pioneers, cowboys and life on the wild frontier.
