Thank you for visiting our
section of the city website. We hope
it provides you with information about Assessing and Taxation
practices that is both useful and educational.
The Assessing practice is a mystery to many people. Most people
see an Assessment Notice in February each year, and then a tax
bill in July, and then another in December. That is the limit of
their contact with the Assessor. The links at
the bottom of this page will provide you with a brief
explanation of the basics of the assessing and taxation
practices.

Below is a link that can be
used to estimate the property taxes. If you are a prospective
purchaser you should enter the SEV rather than the Taxable Value
of the property you are interested in. All others should enter
the Taxable Value. The tax is calculated using the previous
year’s tax rate because the current year rates are not yet
available. THIS IS ONLY AN ESTIMATE!
