PUBLIC NOTICE

EMERGENCY SIREN TESTING

Beginning the First Saturday in July (July 5, 2008), at 12:00 Noon and every month from July through October, the Fire Department will be testing the 4 Emergency Sirens within the City of Charlotte.  The test will not be done if weather is bad or severe, to avoid confusion.

During periods of severe weather, conditions will be monitored, and sirens activated when a storm warning or Haz-mat (Hazardous Materials) situation or event directly affects City Residents. Whenever the City sirens are activated, other than on the Saturdays when the testing is done at 12:00 Noon, all Residents should immediately seek appropriate shelter.

If you have questions or concerns regarding the testing of sirens in the City, please call 517-543-0241.
